Rare vintage red earthenware Platt Ferrolite tile with painted and sgraffito decoration in colour glazes depicting a ‘King on horseback’. Designed by Christina Sheppard in the 1950s/60s. Other examples in the permanent collection of the V&A.
Measures 15cm square.
Front of tile is in excellent condition. There’s a chip to the reverse as shown – does not affect display.
